Para Bellum Arms Clones
Select Your Class
The first step on your AR-building journey begins with selecting a class of AR. Your selection will determine the calibers and components required, in addition to the core functionalities and capabilities. Be sure to weigh the benefits and drawbacks of each class before committing to one (see our AR Class article in the Design Considerations section). When in doubt, start with the AR-15.
PBA Pistol Caliber (AR-9) Clones
The AR-9 (or AR-40) is a pistol caliber carbine (PCC). With it, you get the benefits of the AR platform, with the portability and cost-effectiveness of a pistol caliber firearm. We offer suggestions for pistol and carbine options in this class.
PBA Small Frame (AR-15) Clones
The AR-15 is the gold standard in close to intermediate distance combat-ready firearms. With this class, you will be able to do everything from close quarters target engagement out to about 600 meters. This gun balances power with portability. We offer our suggestions for carbine and rifle options for this class.
PBA Large Frame (AR-10) Clones
The AR-10/LR-308 is the large frame variant of the AR-15, typically chambered in either .308 Winchester or 6.5 Creedmoor. This gun can do everything an AR-15 can, and then some. When chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, we have shot out to a mile with great results. Note that the gun and ammo are pricier and heavier in this class. We offer suggestions for carbine and rifle options in this class.
