Upper Receiver Assembly (AR-9, AR-15, and AR-10/LR108)
In this section, we will walk you through the upper receiver assembly process. We will cover this in a specific order to minimize having to undo/redo things.
Step U1: Install Action Rod and Secure in Vice
Objective: In Step U1 of upper receiver assembly, we will install the action rod into the upper receiver and vice.

Instructions:
Step U1.0: Remove Existing Charging Handle/BCG (replacement/upgrade only)
Ensure the firearm is unloaded.
With the upper receiver removed from the lower receiver, and inverted, retract the charging handle. Lift the BCG out of the upper receiver/charging handle. Lift the charging handle out of the upper receiver (the alignment tab will pass through the applicable cuts in the upper receiver).
Clean the inside of the upper receiver and any parts that will be reused.
Step U1.1: Install Action Rod into Lower Receiver
Install the action rod into the upper receiver per the manufacturer’s instructions.
Step U1.2: Install Action Rod into Vice
Secure the action rod in the bench vice with the upper receiver right-side-up.
